The library hours shall be determined by the Faculty Member In-charge in consultation with Director (CTP), which will be notified separately.
The library shall remain closed on all holidays except as otherwise notified.
The probationers may not borrow more than three books at one time.
Books drawn by probationary officers may not be kept for more than two weeks. However, books may be reissued subsequently for a similar period if no other probationary officer has placed a demand. Books placed in the Reserve Shelf shall not be issued at all.
Probationers requiring books already issued should place a requisition with the library staff. These books will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis once they are returned to the library.
The Librarian shall communicate to the Faculty Member in charge the name of any Probationer who does not return a requisitioned book on the due date.
The Faculty Member In-charge shall, on such report, direct the return of such overdue books. Non-compliance of which shall invite disciplinary action.
A fine of Rs.100/- per day will be charged from the probationers for each overdue book.
In case a book is disfigured, marked or has been written on, it will have to be replaced by a new copy of the same quality or paid for at a price determined by the Competent Authority.
In case a book is lost, a cost equivalent to twice the current estimated price shall be charged.
Journals, magazines, newspapers and reference material are not issued and shall not be removed from the library.
Smoking or taking refreshments in any form shall not be allowed in the library or reading room.
Silence shall be observed in the library.
Probationary officers must be properly dressed when using the library and reading room.
A photocopy machine is available in the library. Photocopying will be carried out on payment as per notified rates.
